Tails & Ales Dog Wash

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona pairs with Tucson Roller Derby in an event sure to get tails wagging.

The tough girls of the Roller Derby and dedicated animal lovers from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) have teamed up again to bring you the 2nd annual Tails & Ales Dog Wash to help raise money for two worthy organizations. Join us for the fun at Barrio Brewery on Sunday, March 21st from noon-4pm. Get your dog washed while you enjoy beer, lunch, and live music while helping raise much needed funds for non-profit organizations in our community.

Goodwill partnering to host Job Fair

PHOENIX (3/5/2010) -- For job seekers, meeting with hiring employers face-to-face is a critical step to finding employment. As part of its ongoing commitment to help individuals prepare for and find work, Goodwill is partnering with Friendly House and DeVry, along with several local employers, to host a job fair on March 11.

Goodwill receives $1.5 million U.S. Department of Labor grant to provide green jobs training to Arizonans

PHOENIX (Feb. 16, 2010) -- As part of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Pathways Out of Poverty Grants, Goodwill of Central Arizona will receive $1.5 million this year to provide green jobs training to individuals living in high poverty geographic areas. Through cohesive programs that integrate training and supportive services, Goodwill plans to help individuals find "pathways out of poverty" and move toward economic self-sufficiency.

Valentine’s Day is a day to care for loved ones, even the furry ones. The Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) celebrates both Valentines Day and National Pet Theft Awareness Day!

This Valentine’s Day you can make a homeless shelter pet your Valentine by donating at www.hssaz.org. Not only will you be making a difference to the homeless animals in our community when you choose from options like “Buy Me Sweets” and other fun valentine related items for shelter pets, but also, you will have the option of sending a beautiful Valentines eCard featuring pets from the shelter to a loved one.
